SOCMA supplies forklifts for moving heavy machinery, with equipment selection support for factory owners, machinery installation teams and moving contractors. We assess how the production machine will be supported, where its weight acts and the space available from receiving to final placement.

The production machine's total weight is the first input. Its transport condition, base structure and accessible fork positions determine what handling arrangement can be considered. These details belong in the equipment enquiry before a truck capacity is specified.

Describe the Machinery in Its Transport Condition

Send the machinery model and a dimensioned drawing showing its condition during the move. Identify the parts that remain fitted, any transport skid or packaging and the resulting gross weight. A production specification may describe a different assembly from the one presented for handling.

Ask the machinery manufacturer to identify the center of gravity and the base areas approved to carry the load. Include any limits on inclination, contact or support positions. Heavy electrical cabinets, motors or offset structures can place the weight away from the geometric center of the machine.

Confirm Where the Forks or Support Frame Can Engage

Show the fork pockets or other intended entry points, their spacing and the clear height beneath the base. The complete load path through the machine base or transport frame needs to be understood. A convenient opening is not by itself evidence of a suitable load-bearing point.

For equipment with protected surfaces or restricted access, state the permitted contact zones. Fork length, section size and carriage arrangement can then be assessed against the base drawing. Any special support device needs to be included in the combined equipment assessment.

Read the Forklift Rating Together with Its Dimensions

The HNF500-1250-A 50-ton forklift provides a published example of the information needed for a machinery handling review. Its rated load is specified at a defined load center, alongside dimensions that affect entry and clearance.

Published HNF500-1250-A reference

Value

Rated load and load center

50 t at 1,250 mm

Truck working weight

60,000 kg

Lowered mast height

5,050 mm

Carriage width

3,400 mm

Fork dimensions

2,400 x 320 x 140 mm

These figures refer to the published model configuration. They do not establish the permitted load for a different center of gravity, fork arrangement or lifting condition. The equipment offer should identify the actual configuration and the capacity information applicable to it.

Check the Full Route from Receiving to Placement

Mark the unloading location, factory entrances, corners and final machine position on a route drawing. Check the envelope of the loaded truck, including the carried machinery, mast and attachment. Door height and the space needed to turn can determine which equipment arrangement remains feasible.

The site's engineering team also needs the relevant truck, load and axle-loading information when reviewing floors, dock areas or temporary crossings. Machinery weight alone is not the total load presented to the route. Identify the permitted standing and travel areas before finalizing the equipment selection.

Match the Equipment to the Receiving Area

Tell us whether the work remains outdoors or continues into a production building. Include the receiving area's requirements for exhaust, noise, floor contact and access. Describe how often the machine will be used and where it will be serviced or replenished.

Our 45-ton electric heavy duty forklift is one option to evaluate where an electric configuration suits the planned work. The payload geometry and access requirements still govern the selection, with charging arrangements and the available power supply included in the equipment discussion.

A Singapore Precision Equipment Delivery Reference

We delivered a 72-ton class forklift to Jiasheng Group in Singapore. The customer described large precision equipment and heavy machine tools among its planned applications. The Singapore 72-ton forklift delivery announcement records the handover and project background.

Define the Equipment Order Around the Handling Plan

Use our heavy duty forklift range to begin a model shortlist. For a project purchase, combine the machinery drawings with the route information and the tasks expected after the initial installation. This helps us discuss equipment for the actual workload rather than one weight figure.

A technical quotation should state the truck configuration, fork or attachment details, principal clearances and the capacity conditions being proposed. Agree the supplied documents, any support required at handover and the information the site team must verify. For several production machines, identify which combinations are covered by the offer.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if machine weight is known but the center of gravity is not

We can discuss preliminary equipment options from the available drawing. Final confirmation needs the relevant load data, including the center of gravity or information that establishes it. The machinery manufacturer's details should be obtained before the equipment specification is approved.

Can machinery on a transport skid be included in the assessment

Yes. Provide the complete package weight, skid drawing and approved support or fork-entry positions. The relationship between the machine and its skid matters as well as the skid's outside dimensions. Any supporting frame included in the move must be covered by the assessment.

How is supply scope coordinated with a machinery moving contractor

Our equipment offer identifies the forklift, agreed attachments and included documentation or support. The contractor and site team should confirm the handling plan, route and their respective responsibilities. Record the interface between equipment supply and site activities before delivery.

Request Equipment for Your Machinery Handling Project

To request a heavy machinery handling proposal, send the machine drawing, transport weight, available support details and a marked route to the final position. Add the destination and required equipment delivery window. SOCMA can then address the forklift configuration and supply scope for your project.
