Crown's ESR 1000 series of reach trucks won the "Best Design Award", which was awarded by the Chicago Athena Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Center for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Research. The jury was particularly impressed by Crown's technological innovations, including the newly developed Gena operating system and the Xpress Lower mast lowering function. As early as 2020, the ESR 1000 series also won the International Intralogistics and Forklift of the Year Award (IFOY) in recognition of its numerous innovations in productivity, connectivity and Gena operating system security.
Transport and logistics service provider Voigt Logistik has been using Crown reach trucks for some time. Its site manager Jan-Peter Wingert was impressed by the product’s features and said: “Crown recently launched The ESR 1000 series is a reach truck, and our operators appreciate its many innovative features, such as automatic height selection, capacity data monitoring and a new and intuitive operator experience."

A major innovation is Crown’s optional Xpress Lower technology, which can double the lowering speed of the forklift’s mast to 1.1 m/s. The mast lowering function does not consume additional energy, but will lower The energy released in the process is fed back to the battery, which can increase the overall productivity by up to 21%, which is unique in the market. Combined with ESR 1000's regenerative braking system, it can save up to 11% of energy.
Complete cellular and WiFi connectivity, as well as the interaction between Gena and the integrated InfoLink fleet management system, turn the forklift into a reliable, connected, and safe partner for the operator. Operators, service technicians and warehouse managers will all benefit from Crown's newly developed Gena operating system, which has made its debut in the ESR 1000 series. The Gena system is intuitive, customizable, and interactive, providing a whole new operator experience. It provides all important data and information clearly and concisely on a 7-inch color touch screen, and the operator can also choose from 25 languages. The system’s user-friendly widgets display key forklift functions and safety checklists, which can be configured according to the operator’s personal preferences. The operator must complete these checklists when logging in for the first time, as well as regular safety messages, all of which help To improve the safety awareness of operators, thereby helping them increase productivity. Intuitive assistance systems such as automatic height selection and capacity data monitors further increase the productivity of the forklift.
