It has the characteristics of flexible operation and convenient use, and can travel and work with load on the general level and solid road, so it is the main lifting machine in the construction and installation project at present.

Tower cranes can be divided according to whether there is a traveling mechanism, different luffing methods, different climbing methods, different rotation methods or the size of the lifting weight. Commonly used are track type, tire type, climbing type and attached type.
