In February 2007, Clark (China) production and R&D base - Qingdao Clark Logistics Machinery Co., Ltd. (abbreviation: CMHCN) was formally established in Qingdao, and all the forklifts it produces are exported to all over the world.

In 2008, the second phase expansion project of the Clark (China) production base was completed, and the production capacity was greatly increased. 99% of the forklifts produced were exported to the Americas, Europe, Asia and other markets.

In October 2020, Clark (China) sales and service company - Qingdao Clark Machinery Sales and Service Co., Ltd. was officially established in Qingdao, marking Clark's official launch of the Chinese forklift market.

At present, Qingdao Clark Factory is Clark's production and R&D base in China, and it is also one of Clark's five major production bases in the world. The others are in the United States, Germany, South Korea and Vietnam. In 2021, the Clark factory in Qingdao produced 3,800 forklifts of various types, most of which were exported to the rest of the world. The target for 2022 is 4,200.

According to data from the Industrial Vehicle Branch of the China Construction Machinery Industry Association (CITA), the total sales volume of China's industrial vehicle industry from January to October 2022 was 889,238 units, a decrease of 4.44% compared to the same period last year.

However, the person in charge of Qingdao Clark expressed his continued optimism about the Chinese forklift market. He told Zhongcha.com: China's economy has strong resilience, sufficient potential, and the handling equipment market has huge potential. With the optimization and adjustment of China's epidemic prevention and control policies, China's economy will be on the fast track of development again, and the demand for material handling equipment in the domestic market will also be released again. Clark will adjust its strategy to actively explore the Chinese market. At the same time, it will continue to expand the R&D team and strengthen the R&D technology of the Qingdao base. In the future, it will launch vehicles developed locally in Qingdao.
